Afternoon my lovelies.
Do you ever just feel like you need an escape? a place to go where you can forget about life or responsibilities for a little while and regenerate? good, glad it’s not only me.
I have a number of happy places.
1 – Anywhere with M. She makes me happy and keeps me calm. And while we are still aware of our responsibilities they seem alot less scary when we’re together. She just understands me and there is no expectation to be anything I’m not when I’m with her.
2 – Katie’s living room. There is no better place to spend a winter’s night than snuggled up on Katie’s sofa with the fire on watching trashy TV with our pjs on and a brew.
3- Game show afternoon. So, I have this one truly amazing friend (who’ll probably never even see this) who I love dearly. We spend our afternoons drinking coffee and watching game shows. Yeah ok, doesn’t sound like much, but it’s one of those things that I’m so used to now I don’t know what I’d do without it. Yes, some days we do actually go out, or put the world to rights, but sometimes just being together watching TV makes it seem like everything’s all going to be ok.
4- Wigan. Not just Wigan in general. My Nana and Grandad live here and it is one of the most peaceful places on earth.
5- Spain. Again my Nan and Grandad have a little house here and it is like a sanctuary. It’s peaceful, there’s no people constantly demanding things from you, sometimes there’s no internet. Just sun and reading. Basically everything I need to replenish and come home feeling fresh and ready to take on the world.
I’m in Wigan as we speak and it is lovely and sunny and quiet. I had a very stressful and quite frankly upsetting day at work yesterday so to be able to come here and watch crappy TV and drink herbal teas is just what I needed.
Hope you have a lovely bank holiday weekend.
Much love, L x
